Mediations in Anoka County Conciliation Court are not currently available due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to provide services in Conciliation Court as soon as it is safe to do so.

In 2010, Mediation Services was asked by the Anoka County Courts to expand their efforts and assist with providing its volunteer mediators for Conciliation Court. This new alliance has improved efficiency for the Anoka County Courts, has created better relationships among Anoka County disputants, and created an opportunity for the parties to resolve their disputes on their own terms before a judge makes a ruling.

The pilot project began September 1, 2010 and the project was deemed successful. Mediation Services typically provides mediators for conciliation court two days per week. Conciliation court clients filing a claim are given information on mediation prior to their court date. They may choose mediation on their scheduled court date, or have the judge make the final decision. If mediation is chosen, a mediator is assigned to a conference room and parties mediate a possible agreement before returning to the courtroom.
